Job summary

Novant Health's Charlotte Orthopedic Hospital is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Technician to join a fast-paced, patient-centered team. In this full-time role you will clean, decontaminate, assemble, sterilize, and distribute surgical instruments, ensuring availability and readiness to support high-quality care.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and a Sterile Reprocessing certification (CBSPD, CRCST or CSPDT) with at least one year of hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Sterile Reprocessing certification required (CBSPD, CRCST or CSPDT).
• One year hospital Sterile Reprocessing experience preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions to assemble instrument sets and trays.
• Knowledge of instrumentation and sterile/aseptic technique.

• Ensures the sterile instruments and equipment are available.

What You’ll Do

-Cleaning, decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, sterilizing, storing, and distributing equipment

-Ensures the sterile instruments and equipment are available

What We’re Looking For

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
• Experience: One year of experience in a hospital Sterile Reprocessing Department, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Sterile Reprocessing Tech certification, required. CBSPD, CRCST or CSPDT, required.
• Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Demonstrates knowledge of instrumentation and sterile/aseptic technique. Ability to read and comprehend written instructions to assemble instrument sets and trays. Ability to learn and understand medical terminology. Maintains Sterile Processing Technician certification.
