Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a Sterile Processing specialist at Marsh Med Ctr Rice Lake in Rice Lake, WI. The role ensures accurate handling of surgical supplies and instruments, complying with SOPs and infection prevention guidelines.

You will inventory, decontaminate, assemble, sterilize, store, and distribute items, while tracking workflow and maintaining timely operations. The position requires a High school diploma or equivalent, 12 months of Sterile Processing experience, and CRCST

Qualifications

• CRCST Central Service Technology certification required.
• If working in Fargo, CRCST certification must be obtained within 24 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient care supplies, equipment and instruments are inventoried and tracked.
• Decontaminate, assemble, inspect, package, sterilize and store items per SOP.
• Maintain quality and timeliness across the health system.
• Follow Infection Prevention and Control Guidelines and SOPs.
• Identify processing errors and take follow-up action as directed.
• Utilize inventory systems in use for tracking and distribution.

Job Summary

Responsible for ensuring patient care and surgical supplies, equipment, and instruments are properly inventoried, decontaminated, assembled, inspected, packaged, sterilized, stored, distributed, and tracked in quality and timely manner throughout the health system. Follows all standard operating procedures (SOP) and policies and Infection Prevention and Control Guidelines. Able to recognize potential and actual processing errors and follow-up according to procedure or management instruction. Completes assigned tasks in a timely manner and maintains continuity in work flow. Utilizes applicable inventory systems in use.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Minimum of 12 months experience in Sterile Processing and /or Central Distribution is strongly preferred. Must have knowledge of medical terminology, and must have strong communication and computer skills.

Must be certified and maintain certification in Central Service Technology.

If working in Fargo, North Dakota, certification in Central Service Technology (CRCST) is required within 24 months of date of hire in the position.
