Job summary

Santa Barbara Surgery Center is seeking a Full Time Sterile Processing Technician to maintain and care for all surgical instruments and to prepare supplies and instruments for surgery cases. This is a Monday–Friday daytime role with no on‑call, nights, weekends, or holiday hours.

Starting hourly range is $25–$36 depending on experience, with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and more.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Completion of a Sterile Process Certification program is preferred.
• Sterile Processing experience in a medical setting is required.
• CRCST or CSPDT certification preferred.
• Ophthalmology experience preferred.
• Experience with all types of sterilizers and operating room instrumentation.
• Able to prepare reports and keep records.

Santa Barbara Surgery Center is a fast paced, multi-specialty, Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) environment committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families.

What You Will Do (Job Summary)

The Sterile Processing Technician maintains and cares for all surgical instruments. Prepares supplies and instruments for surgery cases.

Monday-Friday daytime work schedule

NO call required

NO Nights, NO Weekends, NO Holiday work hours

Starting Hourly Range: $25 - $36/hour depending on experience

• Knows operating room instrumentation.
• Organized in setting up operating room instrument tray.
• Understands operation of steam/ gravity sterilizer.
• Understands Sterrad sterilizers.
• Ability to prepare reports and keep records.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items is required
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
• Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians
