Job summary

Coffee Road Surgery Center in Modesto, CA is seeking a motivated Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for maintaining all surgical instrumentation and preparing instruments for surgery cases.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, knowledge of sterilization equipment, and the ability to work closely with staff, patients, and physicians. Prior hospital or ASC experience is preferred; CRCST/CSPDT certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required
• CRCST or CSPDT certification preferred
• Six months of experience preferred
• 2-3 years experience as Instrument Room Technician
• Experience with all types of sterilizers
• Knows operating room instrumentation
• Organized in setting up operating room instrument tray
• Understands operation of steam/ gravity sterilizer
• Understands Sterrad sterilizers
• Ability to prepare reports and keep records
• Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
• Must be an excellent team player and communicate with staff, patients and physicians

Job Summary

The Sterile Processing Technician cares for and maintains all surgical instrumentation and sets up supplies and instruments for surgery cases.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED required
• Computer skills, required
• CRCST or CSPDT certification preferred
• Six months of experience, preferred
• 2-3 years experience as Instrument Room Technician.
• Experience with all types of sterilizers.
• Knows operating room instrumentation.
• Organized in setting up operating room instrument tray.
• Understands operation of steam/ gravity sterilizer.
• Understands Sterrad sterilizers.
• Ability to prepare reports and keep records.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Minimum 2 year experience in a hospital setting
• Ability to recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errors.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, hospital staff, physicians, vendors and the public.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Demonstrates accountability, professionalism, openness, receptive to change, creativity and innovative.
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient
• Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
• Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics

• Basic knowledge of Performance Improvement ideology
• Experience working in an ASC is a plus.
