Job summary

Shriners Children’s Portland is seeking a full-time Sterile Processing Technician to join our Surgical Services team. You will perform sterile processing of instruments and maintain supplies in a fast-paced environment, ensuring aseptic technique and compliance with safety standards.

Required are a High School Diploma/GED, 2 years of sterile processing experience, and CSPDT certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintains clean environment in sterile processing department by wearing appropriate clothing and gear.
• Safely cleans, packages, assembles, sterilizes instruments and trays using aseptic technique.
• Operates, monitors, and documents all cleaning and sterilizing equipment.
• Maintains CS and Surgery inventory by counting, ordering, and restocking supplies.
• Responds to requests from Surgery for different or additional items.

Job Description

The Sterile Processing Technician performs sterile processing of surgical instruments and equipment and maintains supplies for the Surgical Services Department. We have an opportunity for a full-time Sterile Processing Technician to join our Shriners Portland team!

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintains clean environment in sterile processing department by wearing appropriate clothing, hair and face covering, and cover coats, and removing/changing aprons, masks, etc., as necessary.
• Safely cleans, packages, assembles, sterilizes instruments and trays using aseptic technique.
• Correctly operates, monitors, and documents all cleaning and sterilizing equipment in CS and OR area according to equipment manufacturer’s instructions
• Maintains appropriate CS and Surgery inventory by routinely counting, ordering, and restocking par level supplies.
• Responds immediately to all requests from Surgery for different or additional items.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED
• 2 years’ experience in sterile processing
• Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT), required within 6 months of hire

The pay range for this position is $24.16 - $36.23. Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
