Job summary

Shriners Children's in Portland, OR, is seeking a full-time Sterile Processing Technician to support the Surgical Services Department. You will ensure sterility and readiness of instruments for procedures and maintain a clean processing environment.

Responsibilities include cleaning, packaging, sterilizing using aseptic technique, documenting equipment sterilization, and managing inventory with timely restocks. Requires HS diploma, 2 years’ experience, and CSPDT within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required or equivalent.
• 2 years' experience in sterile processing.
• CSPDT certification required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintains clean environment in sterile processing by proper attire and procedures.
• Safely cleans, packages, and sterilizes instruments and trays using aseptic technique.
• Operates, monitors, and documents CS and OR sterilization equipment per manufacturer instructions.
• Maintains CS and Surgery inventory; regularly counts, orders, and restocks par levels.
• Responds promptly to Surgery requests for additional items.

We have an opportunity for a full-time Sterile Processing Technician to join our Shriners Portland team!Key Responsibilities:Maintains clean environment in sterile processing department by wearing appropriate clothing, hair and face covering, and cover coats, and removing/changing aprons, masks, etc., as necessary.Safely cleans, packages, assembles, sterilizes instruments and trays using aseptic technique.Correctly operates, monitors, and documents all cleaning and sterilizing equipment in CS and OR area according to equipment manufacturer's instructionsMaintains appropriate CS and Surgery inventory by routinely counting, ordering, and restocking par level supplies.Responds immediately to all requests from Surgery for different or additional items.Required Qualifications:High School Diploma/GED2 years' experience in sterile processingCertified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT), required within 6 months of hireCompensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
