Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Michigan is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure the safety and readiness of surgical instruments. You will inspect, decontaminate, assemble instrument sets, and support case carts while adhering to IFUs and hospital protocols.

This full-time, afternoon shift role offers opportunities for growth, a sign-on bonus of $5,000, and collaborative teamwork within a leading academic medical center.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; 1 year of applicable experience required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
• Preferred: CSP/CBSPD or HSPA credential for Sterile Processing.
• Completion of a Sterile Processing program.

Responsibilities

• Operate sterilization equipment and inspect instruments, equipment, and containers to ensure cleanliness and proper functioning.
• Perform decontamination of soiled instruments, sterilization containers, and equipment according to IFUs and established protocols.
• Assemble correct instrument sets according to current standards and tracking systems.
• Maintain proper levels of inventory to ensure availability for case carts.
• Perform regular quality assurance program audits of peers.

Role Overview

As a Sterile Processing Technician, you'll ensure the quality and safety of surgical instruments and equipment by inspecting, assembling, and sterilizing them according to established protocols. Your work directly supports surgical teams and patients by maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring all instruments are ready for use. This role is critical to the success of surgical procedures and patient outcomes.

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Preferred Qualifications

• Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association.
• Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD).
• Completion of a Sterile Processing program.

Additional Information

Full Time - Afternoon Shift - 40 hours/week

Schedule: 3:00pm - 11:30pm
