Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to perform decontamination, set assembly and sterilization of surgical instruments in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities include preparing surgical case carts and assisting with materials management as required, with on‑site duties in Michigan. Prior sterile processing experience and/or formal coursework are preferred to ensure efficient instrument turnaround.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 6 months of Sterile Processing Department experience or completion of a college-level sterile processing course.
• Preferred: 1–2 years of post‑high school training in Sterile Processing.

Responsibilities

• Handle decontamination, set assembly and sterilization of instruments.
• Prepare surgical case carts and assist with materials management as applicable.

The primary responsibilities of the role include all aspects of processing; decontamination through set assembly, and sterilization. Dependent on the clinical setting; preparation of surgical case carts and materials management may be expectations of the role.

Qualifications

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 6 months work experience in a Sterile Processing Department or as a Surgical Scrub Technician OR completion of a college-level course in Sterile Processing

Preferred:

• One to two years of formal education or training beyond High School in Post –High school course in Sterile Processing
