Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for evenings at Indian Creek Main. The role supports the operating room and health system staff, ensuring proper decontamination, assembly and sterilization of instrumentation in line with regulatory standards.

Hours are Mon-Fri 3:00PM-11:30PM, with responsibilities including documentation and safe work practices. Requires HS/GED and sterile processing certification or related training.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED required.
• Sterile Processing Technician or Surgical Technologist experience or enrollment/completion of a Sterile Processing Certification or Surgical Tech program.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates, assembles and sterilizes instrumentation according to national guidelines and internal standards.
• Operates departmental equipment within guidelines/policies/procedures.
• Maintains quality control through thorough documentation of sterilization processes.
• Prioritizes and communicates customer needs within the department and with customers.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
• Understands instrumentation and equipment used in all customer areas.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.

Position Summary / Career Interest:

Under the direction of the Sterile Processing Manager, the Sterile Processing Technician processes the instrumentation utilized in the operating room and ancillary areas according to regulatory standards and appropriate internal standards. The role provides and customer-focused service to all Health System team members, leadership and medical staff and to the patients/visitors.

**Hours for this position are Mon-Fri 3:00PM-11:30PM**

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

• Decontaminates, assembles and sterilizes instrumentation according to national guidelines and internal standards.
• Operates departmental equipment within appropriate guidelines/policies/procedures.
• Demonstrates high levels of quality control by following departmental policies/procedures and thorough documentation of sterilization process.
• Effectively prioritizes and communicates customer needs within the department and with customers.
• Assists in maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Understands and identifies instrumentation and equipment utilized in all customer areas.
• Performs other assigned duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager related to Sterile Processing.
• Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience

• High School Graduate or GED
• Sterile Processing Technician or Surgical Technologist experience or current enrollment or completion of a Sterile Processing Certification or Surgical Tech program

Required Licensure and Certification

• Certified Registered Central Service Technician(CRCST) - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) within 1 Year

Preferred Licensure and Certification

• Certified Registered Central Service Technician(CRCST) - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) upon Hire
• Certificate or Degree from a Surgical Tech Program
