Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure the safety and readiness of surgical instruments in a clinical setting. You will decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and package instruments for sterilization, while maintaining strict infection control standards.

Responsibilities include operating autoclaves and tracking cycles, maintaining inventory, and collaborating with surgical teams to meet instrument needs. 11a - 7:30p M-F with rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CRCST and CER certifications within 18 months of hire.
• Basic knowledge of sterilization techniques, infection control, and medical terminology.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain strict adherence to safety and quality protocols.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle instruments safely.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, and inspect surgical instruments and medical equipment following established protocols and safety standards.
• Assemble and package instruments and trays for sterilization, ensuring accuracy and completeness according to surgical procedure requirements.
• Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves and chemical sterilizers, monitoring cycles and documenting results to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Maintain inventory of sterile supplies and instruments, restocking as necessary to support surgical schedules and emergency needs.
• Collaborate with healthcare staff to address instrument needs, troubleshoot equipment issues, and ensure timely delivery of sterile materials.
