Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure surgical instruments are cleaned, sterilized, and ready for procedures. You will work closely with nurses and surgeons to support safe, efficient surgeries in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role emphasizes safety, attention to detail, and adherence to sterilization standards, with shift hours from 11:00am to 7:30pm, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or GED.
  • CRCST or CSPDT certification must be obtained within 2 years of start date.
  • 1 year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and organize surgical instruments and supplies.
  • Monitor sterilization cycles, document results, resolve issues.
  • Prepare instrument trays and surgical rooms per daily schedule.
  • Safely handle and dispose of biohazardous materials; keep area clean.
  • Collaborate with nurses and surgeons to support surgeries.

Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Sterile Processing Technician, you'll play a critical role in delivering safe, high-quality surgical care by making sure every instrument is thoroughly cleaned, sterilized, and ready when needed. Your focus on safety and attention to detail helps protect patients and empowers a team that’s committed to the care and improvement of human life – one surgery at a time.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards
  • Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly to deliver on our commitment to safe, high-quality care
  • Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs
  • Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized
  • Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support smooth, efficient surgeries
What qualifications you will need:
  • High School Graduate / GED
  • (CRCST) Certified Registered Central Service Technician, or (CSPDT) Cert Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician must be obtained within 2 years of employment start date
  • 1 years experience Preferred
  • Shift Time 11:00am-7:30pm Monday thru Friday
