Job summary

Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, MD seeks a Sterile Processing Technician Trainee to join our on-site SPD team. Under supervision, you will participate in decontamination, cleaning, assembling, packaging, sterilization, storage and distribution of reusable instrumentation.

No prior experience required; a high school diploma is required. Certification through CBSPD, HSPA, or IAHCSMM must be obtained within two years of hire.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must obtain certification through CBSPD, HSPA, or IAHCSMM within two years of hire.
• No prior experience required; healthcare or sterile processing exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in decontamination, cleaning, assembling, packaging, scanning, sterilization, storage and distribution of reusable surgical instrumentation and equipment.
• Support safe and effective patient care by ensuring instruments and equipment are processed according to established standards and procedures.
