Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure sterilized instruments and equipment for surgical procedures are cleaned, prepared, and stored accurately. The role provides clinical knowledge support and requires adherence to MIFU and SOP standards.

The position supports patient care in clinical and satellite operations, including operative suites, with a focus on safety and quality in the sterile processing workflow.

Qualifications

• Must have basic computer skills and data-entry ability.

Responsibilities

• Perform general and specialized instrument care duties.
• Provide supplies for surgical procedures as needed.
• Disassemble and clean critical reusable medical equipment per MIFU.
• Inspect, package and reassemble instruments and trays per priority.
• Perform high-level disinfection and sterilization per MIFU procedures.
• Maintain records and document control per SOPs and regulations.
• Adapt communication and care approach to patient population.
