Job summary

Texas Orthopedic Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician (PRN) in Houston to support safe, high-quality surgical care by ensuring instruments are cleaned, sterilized, and ready when needed.

You will work with nurses and surgeons to prepare trays, monitor cycles, and manage biohazardous materials, while adhering to safety standards and daily schedules.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• CRCST or CSPDT certification must be obtained within 2 years of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards.
• Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly to deliver on our commitment to safe, high-quality care.
• Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs.
• Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized.
• Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support smooth, efficient surgeries.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards
• Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly to deliver on our commitment to safe, high-quality care
• Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs
• Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized
• Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support smooth, efficient surgeries

What qualifications you will need:

• High School Graduate / GED
• (CRCST) Certified Registered Central Service Technician, or (CSPDT) Cert Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician must be obtained within 2 years of employment start date
