Job summary

77 Consultants is seeking a qualified Central Sterile Processing Technician in Beaufort, SC. You will receive, disassemble, inspect reusable medical devices, and ensure they are damage-free before sterilization.

You will follow OSHA PPE requirements, manage regulated waste, and prepare instrument trays. Experience with Ethylene Oxide and Steam sterilization and MT F procedures is essential for safe, compliant operation.

Qualifications

• Certificate in Central Sterile Processing from a recognized program.
• 1 year of hands-on CST experience post-certification.
• Certification from IAHCMM or National Institute of Healthcare Sterile Processing and Distribution Personnel.
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider certification (AHA or ARC).
• Ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Receive, disassemble, and inspect reusable medical devices for damages.
• Manage reception and disposal of regulated waste and soiled linen per health safety standards.
• Adhere to OSHA PPE requirements in the decontamination area.
• Assess and apply appropriate decontamination methods (blood, tissue, bodily fluids) using ultrasonic/washer-decontamination equipment.
• Conduct post-decontamination and pre-sterilization checks to ensure cleanliness and instrument function.
• Label and track medical devices and instruments accurately.
• Assemble specialty trays, choose wrapping materials, and plan sterilization per MTF protocols (ETO/Steam).
• Inspect sterilized trays/equipment after cycles and store properly.
