UPMC is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support a high-volume operating room, ensuring safe, exceptional patient care through meticulous decontamination, inspection, sterilization, and instrument handling.

You will learn the full lifecycle of surgical instrumentation, assemble trays with precision, monitor sterilization parameters, maintain case carts, and collaborate with clinical teams to keep ORs running smoothly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent (no experience required).
• Enrollment in an Accredited Surgical Technician/Sterile Processing Program preferred.
• Alternatively 1 year of experience within UPMC.
• Must be able to stand for shift hours and lift 35 pounds.

Responsabilités

• Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, sterilize, store, and distribute surgical instruments.
• Clean, decontaminate, inspect, and sterilize reusable instruments.
• Assemble surgical trays with precision.
• Monitor, document, and interpret sterilization parameters.
• Maintain case carts and inventory for standard procedures.
• Communicate with clinical teams to support OR operations.
• Participate in performance improvement and ongoing education.
• Uphold infection control and sterile processing standards.
