Job summary

Rochester General Health System is seeking a Part-Time Sterile Processing Technician for Clifton Springs, NY. You will support the Sterile Processing Dept by decontaminating, packaging, sterilizing, storing, and distributing sterile goods to hospital areas to enable safe procedures.

The role requires central service credentials or a grandfathering option, with a 20-hour weekly schedule (Mon, Wed, Thu, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.) and strict adherence to department policies and PPE protocols.

Qualifications

• Nationally accredited central service exam completed and maintains one of CR CST or CSPDT credentials.
• Must obtain certification within 18 months of hire if not grandfathered.
• If using Provisional Certification from IAHCSMM, must obtain full certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Process and supply sterile goods to all hospital areas (decontamination, gleaning, packing, sterilizing, storing, distribution).
• Maintain supplies used in sterilizing items and ensure availability for hospital/affiliates.
• Report shortages for replenishment and distribute equipment as ordered.
• Keep areas clean, organized, and fully stocked with essentials.
• Transport medications from crash cart to pharmacy and ensure PPE is used.
