Job summary

Rochester General Health System is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech to ensure safe, efficient processing of sterile goods across the hospital, including decontamination, preparation, sterilization, and distribution to operating rooms and units.

The role supports the department through precise carting, inventory control, and adherence to policies, with a 37.5 hour workweek, Monday to Friday 9am–5pm, and a weekend on-call rotation every sixth weekend.

Qualifications

• Certified Central Service technician qualifications required within 18 months of hire.
• Crucial certifications: CRCST and/or CSPDT with expected completion timelines.

Responsibilities

• Process and supply sterile goods to hospital areas: decontaminate, glean, pack, sterilize, store, and distribute.
• Maintain adequate supplies for sterilization processes and department needs.
• Report unavailable items for replenishment and ensure carts and shelves remain clean and stocked.
• Transport medications from crash cart to pharmacy as needed.
