Job summary

OhioHealth in Ohio is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician (Non-Certified) to perform decontamination, cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments and endoscopes, and to prepare and package instrumentation for sterile processing.

The role supports operating rooms and external customers, maintains records, and participates in instrument tracking, safety, and quality control while following AAMI and AORN standards.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a team and follow instructions.
• Basic computer skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, disinfect and clean various reusable surgical instruments.
• Operate sterilization processes and monitor indicators.
• Record instrument tracking and assist with case preparation.
• Transfer and store sterile packages according to guidelines.
• Coordinate with vendors and surgical reps for loaner trays.
• Maintain safety, quality and efficiency as part of HRO practices.
• Educate and train fellow associates.
