Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Successful completion of the SPD Readiness Course within 1 Year required.

Responsibilities

• The Sterile Processing Technician works under the direct supervision of the SPD Operations Specialist or SPD Supervisor, and cooperates with the Surgical and Sterile Processing Team.
• Demonstrates professionalism and ethical standards.
• Completes tasks and uses resources for processing instrumentation and equipment.
• Gains independence in sterilization processes in a dynamic technical environment.
• Performs cleaning, decontamination, packaging, sterilization and distribution of instrument trays for surgical case carts as per pick lists or surgeon’s preference cards.
