Job summary

El Camino Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for the night shift to perform decontamination, preparation and sterilization of sterile medical equipment. You will work under the supervision of the Sterile Processing Manager and Shift Supervisor within a team of technicians, applying RME reprocessing knowledge and SPD procedures.

Responsibilities include maintaining current SPD procedures, following IFU, mentoring less experienced staff and enforcing safety to prevent

Qualifications

• Minimum one-year experience in instrument processing in an acute care setting.
• Proficient knowledge of medical terminology to understand instrumentation, surgical procedures, and surgical schedule.
• Must be proficient in the Association of Advanced Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) Standards of Practice.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination, preparation and assembly, sterilization processing, storage and distribution duties.
• Maintain current knowledge of SPD procedures and RME reprocessing.
• Demonstrate knowledge of safety and prevention of cross contamination.
• Mentor Sterile Processing Technicians and proctor students.
• Work as a team with SPD staff and follow IFU and SPD policies.
