Job summary

Keck Hospital of USC in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician I for a full-time night-shift role (Thu–Sun, 10-hour nights). You will decontaminate, assemble, sterilize, and distribute reusable surgical instrumentation, ensuring compliance with IFU and SPD SOPs.

The ideal candidate has sterile processing training, ability to operate autoclaves and peroxide sterilizers, and familiarity with Censitrac. One year at the next level is anticipated after tenure.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent
• Sterile Processing Program or accredited Surgical Technician program (≤6 months post-graduation)
• Recent graduate from Accredited Sterile Processing Program (≤6 months)
• Working knowledge of instrument processing techniques
• Basic computer skills (Windows OS)

Responsibilities

• Assemble and package instrument sets per protocol and IFU
• Disassemble, decontaminate, and load instruments for washers
• Operate and maintain sterilization equipment and document processes
• Distribute sterile instrumentation and maintain inventory
• Coordinate with other departments to maintain workflows
• Prepare loads and OR carts; inspect packages for sterility
