Job summary

SGMC Health is seeking a Processing Technician for the Sterile Processing Department. You will support decontamination, sterilization, and the preparation of instruments for operating rooms and other hospital areas.

Responsibilities include assembling case carts, directing SPD staff in the manager's absence, and ensuring adherence to infection control and safety standards in a fast-paced environment. Prior CSPT or Surgical Tech training is preferred, with strong teamwork emphasized.

Qualifications

• Experience in Central Sterile Processing required.
• CSPT certification or Surgical Tech program preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment.
• Knowledge of infection control and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in decontamination, reprocessing, and sterilization of instruments.
• Prepare case carts and trays for surgical procedures.
• Supervise SPD technicians in absence of manager.
• Ensure compliance with infection control and regulatory standards.
• Support scheduling and equipment availability for OR and other departments.
