Job summary

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is seeking a Central Processing Technician to join the Central Processing Department. The role involves assisting in the decontamination of instruments, rigid scopes, and equipment to ensure sterility and safety for all patients.

You will inspect and prepare instruments, follow infection control PPE procedures, and utilize the instrument management system for tracking throughout tray assembly.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid CPD Certification required.
• Experience using Instrument Tracking System.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and prepare surgical instruments and patient care equipment for cleaning and decontamination.
• Follow hand-washing procedure per infection control policy with PPE during decontamination tasks.
• Use the instrument management system for tracking, identification, and documentation during tray assembly.
• Prioritize tray and instrument assembly to meet needs of supported areas.
• Detail distribution of trays and instruments using the instrument management system during case cart assembly.
• Perform manual documentation of tasks as required.
