Job summary

Keck Hospital of USC in Los Angeles seeks a Sterile Processing Technician II to decontaminate, assemble, sterilize and distribute reusable surgical instrumentation across departments. You will operate steam autoclaves and hydrogen peroxide sterilizers, maintain sterile documentation, and ensure timely instrument availability for the OR teams following IFU guidelines.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of Sterile Processing Program or accredited Surgical Technician program.
• If no program, 3 years Sterile Processing experience.
• 1 year Sterile Processing experience required.
• Basic computer knowledge (Windows OS).
• Sterile Processing Certification current (HSPA/CBSPD or CST/TS-C) required.
• Fire Life Safety Training within LA City within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and package instrument sets per protocols and IFU.
• Disassemble instruments, decontaminate and load washers per IFU.
• Operate sterilization and disinfection equipment and maintain records.
• Dispense sterile instrumentation to OR and maintain inventory.
• Train or guide other Sterile Processing Technicians as needed.
• Troubleshoot equipment and coordinate with OR and outside vendors.
• Prepare loads and operate sterilization equipment.
• Adhere to SPD policies and SOPs.
• Prepare OR case carts and check packaging for proper sterilization.
• Record documentation and use Censitrac tracking system.
