Job summary

UCLA Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech II to process surgical instrumentation and manage sterilization in the Surgical Supply division of the main operating rooms. The role requires graduates of sterile processing or surgical tech programs, with at least 6 months experience for Tech II, ability to lift and move heavy items, and strong

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited sterile processing or surgical tech program (or relevant experience).
• Minimum 6 months of sterile processing experience for Tech II; Tech I for less.
• Lift up to 25 lbs and handle carts up to 200 lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique, sterile fields, and OR decontamination.
• Maintenance and cleaning of instrumentation.
• Familiarity with decontamination equipment and instrument sterilizers.
• Good English grammar and communication to train staff.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, calm under stress.

Responsibilities

• Process surgical instrumentation in decontamination and sterilization.
• Operate steam and H2O2 sterilizers, sonic equipment, washers, and heat sealers.
• Store, date, and rotate supplies per guidelines (TJC and CMS).
