Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in the KPGA region seeks a Sterile Processing Technician under direct supervision to perform decontamination, preparation & packaging, sterilization and high level disinfection of reusable surgical instruments and endoscopes.

You will document QA activities, monitor equipment parameters, track instruments in the computerized management system, and restock supplies while supporting multiple SPD locations and shifts.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience cleaning and sterilizing instruments and endoscope reprocessing.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution - Technician Certification OR Registered Central Service Technician Certificate from Healthcare Sterile Processing Association

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, decontaminate, inspect and package instrumentation and endoscopes; prepare for sterilization.
• Sterilize or high level disinfect items per policy and safety requirements; follow PPE guidelines.
• Document QA activities on equipment including sterilizers, washers, and AER; track instruments via tracking system.
• Maintain PAR stocking and inventory; provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
• Follow organizational policies and attendance expectations.
