Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Certification as CRCST or CSPDT or grandfathering as specified.
• Previous Central Supply or Operating Room instrument processing experience preferred.
• Familiarity with medical technology preferred.
• Grandfathering: worked for a cumulative total of one year in Jan 2011–Jan 2015.

Responsibilities

• Understands and adheres to WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors.
• Demonstrates understanding of the responsibilities of the position.
• Verbalizes and applies knowledge of department and hospital policies and procedures.
• Attends staff meetings to update knowledge on department/hospital issues.
• Completes annual department/hospital competency requirements and documents on the Competency/Education record.
• Maintains sterilization and decontamination equipment and records; ensures safety standards are met.
• Operates cleaning equipment and handles biohazardous materials following safety protocols.
• Assembles, packages, and labels instruments per recipes; inspects for cleanliness and function.
