Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Phoenix/Scottsdale is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to decontaminate, assemble, sterilize, and re-process reusable surgical instruments and scopes, ensuring they are safe for the operating room team.

You will maintain inventory, support the sterile core, and perform quality assurance tasks, following Joint Commission, AAMI, and OSHA standards; certification through IAHSCMM or CBSPD is required within one year of hire.

Qualifications

• Progressive computer knowledge for instrument tracking and sterilization is preferred.
• Knowledge of anatomy, surgical terminology, infection control and safety is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to give/receive feedback.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination, assembly, sterilization and storage of instruments and scopes.
• Support operating room team and sterile core in perioperative care.
• Maintain inventory and storage of processed supplies.
• Ensure instruments are safe for use and meet safety standards.
