Job summary

Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium seeks a Sterile Processing Technician II/III to support the ANMC campus. Under limited supervision, you will decontaminate, clean, sterilize, inspect, assemble, and distribute reusable surgical instruments, and perform high-level disinfection and quality assurance.

You will manage inventory, submit work orders, train lower level staff, and ensure compliance with ANSI/AAMI standards and HSPA guidelines, contributing to safe patient care.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
• Familiarity with decontamination, disinfection and sterilization processes.
• Understanding of quality control and safety standards in sterile processing.
• Ability to operate sterilization equipment and inventory systems.
• Knowledge of and adherence to ANSI/AAMI ST79 and related guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Transports soiled medical equipment and performs decontamination, cleaning, inspection and packaging.
• Performs high-level disinfection and distributes processed equipment for the campus.
• Maintains inventory and submits work orders for equipment maintenance or replacement.
• Performs quality assurance monitoring and ensures instruments are safe for patient care.
• Directs daily tasks and trains lower level staff as needed.
• Ensures compliance with department policies, safety, and infection control standards.
