Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a Perioperative Services Technician to support the Operating Room by cleaning, decontaminating, inspecting, assembling and sterilizing surgical instruments and supplies. You will ensure correct set assembly, proper dispatch to locations, and adherence to perioperative standards.

Roles require 0-1 year instrument processing experience, HS diploma, and certification as a Central Service Technician or CRCST within 18 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (Required)
• Certification as a Central Processing Technician OR CRCST must be obtained within 18 months from date of hire.
• 0-1 years instrument processing experience

Responsibilities

• Cleans, decontaminates, inspects, assembles, packages and sterilizes surgical instrumentation, linens.
• Follows established priority list and OR schedule; uses instrument tracking system.
• Documents processed materials and adheres to HIPAA and JCAHO requirements.
• Acts as a resource to team and supports professional development within department.
