Job summary

The University Medical Center in Louisville, KY is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech to support the operating room by delivering fully functional instrumentation and maintaining sterile packaging standards. You will perform decontamination, prep and pack, sterilization, and dispatch duties, following AAMI, AORN and CDC guidelines to uphold patient safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of healthcare setting experience preferred.
• Sterile processing certification required within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Answers telephone promptly and assists callers with items needed.
• Assembles supplies and places into case carts for procedures.
• Delivers sterile and non-sterile instrumentation and picks up used items.
• Delivers case carts to the Surgery Department and required areas.
• Operates processing equipment and performs sterilization monitoring.
• Maintains department organization and ensures inventory is stocked.
• Follows HIPAA and safety procedures consistently.
