Job summary

UofL Health announces a Sterile Processing Tech I at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY. The role supports OR staff by delivering sterile instrumentation and maintaining clean, organized decontamination and prep areas.

You will perform decontamination, assembly and packaging of instruments, operate processing equipment, and follow AAMI/AORN/CDC guidelines while ensuring patient safety and quality service. Requires high school diploma; certification within 12 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• One year of healthcare setting experience preferred.
• Nationally recognized Sterile Processing certification required within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists in decontamination, prep and pack, sterilization, and dispatch of instrumentation.
• Assembles supplies and prepares case carts for procedures.
• Delivers case carts to Surgery and other departments; maintains inventory and back-up carts.
• Operates SPD processing equipment and monitors sterilization processes.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of SPD; adheres to safety and HIPAA guidelines.
