Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to decontaminate, clean, package, sterilize, store and distribute medical and surgical equipment according to applicable guidelines. Responsibilities include filling orders, instrument processing, and maintaining records in a fast-paced SPD.

This on-call position requires basic computer skills, ability to multitask, and strong attention to detail to ensure safety and readiness of instruments for procedures.

• Experience with decontamination, assembly, and sterilization
• Knowledge of instrument processing techniques and department protocols
• Basic computer skills and ability to document activities

Mansioni

• Fill orders from requesting departments.
• Perform equipment rounds and return soiled items to SPD; clean, validate PM status, and store equipment.
• Answer phones.
• Inventory and restock supplies and specialty carts.
• Order beds and other patient equipment.
• Disassemble, clean or decontaminate surgical instruments; ultrasonic cleaning.
• Assemble, inspect, test, wrap and date sets per protocol.
• Operate Sterile Processing Department equipment (steam/plasma sterilizers, endoscope reprocessors, etc.).
• Track instrument/process records and maintain sterilization documentation.
• Inspect sterile packages and ensure integrity.
• Prepare OR case carts per preference cards.
• Promote customer service to internal and external customers.
• Work collaboratively in a team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
