Job summary

Boston Children’s Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to assemble instrument trays and prepare instruments for sterilization. You will process instrumentation, operate washers and sterilizers, and support the SPD with accurate logging and decontamination tasks.

The role requires a High School Diploma/GED and CRCST or CSPDT certification within one year of hire. A comprehensive benefits package and flexible scheduling are provided.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
CRCST or CSPDT certification required within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

Transports surgical instruments and materials between surgical suites and SPD per procedures.
Restocks surgical core areas with sterilized instruments as directed.
Receives, sorts, decontaminates soiled instruments using logs and cleaning equipment.
Operates decontamination machinery (automatic washers, cart washers, endoscope reprocessors).
Inspects, assembles, and sterilizes instrument trays and supply packets per guidelines.
Operates sterilizers, sets programs, and monitors data during cycles.
Answer calls, forward messages, provide routine information; escalate complex queries as needed.
