Job summary

Boston Children’s Hospital is seeking a full-time Sterile Processing Technician to prepare and sterilize surgical instruments in the SPD. The role requires experience in sterile processing and CRCST or CSPDT certification, with a 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum of two years' experience in Sterile Processing.
CRCST or CSPDT certification required.

Responsibilities

Transports and restocks surgical instrumentation and materials in surgical suites and SPD.
Receives, sorts, cleans, and decontaminates soiled instruments, logging items.
Op erates cleaning and decontamination equipment such as washers, reprocessors, and pasteurizers.
Inspects, prepares, assembles, and sterilizes surgical instruments and materials following guidelines.
Loads, programs, and monitors sterilizers to ensure proper operation and safety.
Manages telephone communications, routing routine information and directing complex inquiries to supervisors.
Provides departmental leadership in the absence of senior staff, organizing daily operations.
Addresses customer requests, resolves issues, and completes daily shift reports.
