Northwestern Memorial Healthcare in Chicago seeks a Sterile Processing Technician I to support instrument sterilization and distribution across Surgery and Patient Care areas. The role operates 3:00pm–11:30pm, with 40 hours weekly, under supervision of the Resource Coordinator and Manager.

Requires a High School Diploma, good verbal and written communication skills, and basic computer skills; certification is preferred within 18 months.

Responsabilidades

• Supports Northwestern Memorial Hospital by dispensing instruments and supplies to Surgery and Patient care areas
• Follows preference sheet to accurately dispense instruments and supplies to Surgery and Patient care areas
• Maintains knowledge of safety and infection control standards
• Operates the Tray Tracking computer system in assigned areas of the department
• Reports damaged or missing items to the Resource Coordinator and Manager
• Performs quality assurance and biological testing on equipment and documents results
• Prepares and delivers accurate case carts for surgical procedures
• Delivers materials via dumbwaiter, tube system, elevator or handcarts
• Rotates through work areas to meet service needs and completes tasks from previous shift
