Job summary

Northwestern Memorial is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician I to support surgical services. Shift is 3:00pm–11:30pm, 40 hours weekly, with responsibilities including dispensing instruments, preparing case carts, and using the Tray Tracking system.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, good verbal and written communication, and basic computer skills. Certification within 18 months preferred; training on aseptic techniques and infection control will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Follows preference sheet to dispense instruments and supplies to Surgery and Patient care areas.
• Maintains Tray Tracking system and reports issues to supervisor.
• Prepares and delivers accurate case carts for use in surgical procedures.
• Rotates through department areas to ensure service needs are met.
• Performs quality assurance and biological testing on equipment and documents results.
