Job summary

UChicago Medicine AdventHealth in Hinsdale, IL is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to sterilize, prepare, and stock surgical instruments for operating rooms.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate degree or equivalent, CPR/BLS certification, and CSPDT/CRCST credentials preferred. This full-time role offers day shift with rotating weekends and holidays, with benefits from Day One.

Qualifications

• Associates preferred; high school grad required.
• Technical or vocational training preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification preferred; CSPDT and CRCST are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Receives soiled and contaminated instruments from surgery and nursing units.
• Prepares, cleans, and disinfects instruments and equipment.
• Inspects instruments for damages and ensures proper sterilization.
• Prepares instruments for sterilization and tracks usage and stock levels.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization in the work area.
• Demonstrates proficiency with equipment and adheres to scheduling needs.
• Takes on-call assignments and supports professional development.
• Other duties as assigned.
