Job summary

UChicago Medicine AdventHealth is seeking a PRN Sterile Processing Technician for the 2nd shift (3pm-11:30pm) with at least 1 year in sterile processing. The role requires maintaining sterilization records, QA audits, and collaboration with the surgical team to ensure instrument readiness.

Candidates should hold CRCST or CSPDT certification, possess strong infection control knowledge, and be flexible for weekend on-call once per month. Located in Glendale Heights, IL.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited school of Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology.
• CRCST and CSPDT certifications are required.
• Knowledge of infection control and cross-contamination prevention.

Responsibilities

• Maintains records of sterilization activities and inventory levels.
• Operates sterilization equipment and inspects instruments and containers for cleanliness.
• Performs decontamination of soiled instruments and containers per IFUs and protocols.
• Ensures proper instrument sets and tracking systems are updated.
• Collaborates with the surgical team to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments.
• Trains new staff on sterilization procedures and safety requirements.
