Job summary

UVA Health is actively hiring Sterile Processing Technicians to support high-acuity surgical services and infection prevention across perioperative teams. Roles welcome certified and non-certified candidates with ladder-based advancement.

Facilities include Battle Building, UVA Orthopedic Center, and Fontaine Research Park. Training, mentorship, and growth opportunities are provided in a Magnet-recognized academic medical center.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Sterile Processing experience preferred but may be entry-level.
• CRCST or CBSPD certification preferred for advancement.
• Strong attention to detail and patient safety are essential.
• Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination, cleaning, assembly, packaging, sterilization, storage and distribution of instruments.
• Prepare and assemble surgical trays following tray listings.
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment and document parameters.
• Maintain instrument tracking using barcode systems.
• Support OR readiness by pulling cases and restocking supplies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, regulated, and compliant workspace.
