Job summary

UVA Health seeks Sterile Processing Technicians to support high-acuity surgical services across the perioperative environment in Charlottesville. The role welcomes candidates with varying levels of experience and offers a structured career ladder based on experience, education, certification, and demonstrated competencies.

You will participate in decontamination, sterilization, tray preparation, and case support while maintaining documentation and instrument tracking.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Sterile processing experience preferred but not required for entry-level opportunities.
• Certification through HSPA (CRCST) or CBSPD preferred for advancement.

Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination, cleaning, assembly, packaging, sterilization, storage, and distribution of reusable surgical instruments and equipment.
• Prepare and assemble surgical trays following established tray listings.
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment and document all parameters to ensure compliance and safety.
• Maintain accurate tracking of instruments and trays using barcode systems.
• Support Operating Room readiness by pulling cases, restocking supplies, and expediting instrumentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, regulated, and compliant work environment.
