Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to receive, clean, sterilize and store surgical instruments and equipment. The position runs on a Weekday schedule 11a to 11p, with Weekends 9a to 9p; 3 days, 12-hour shifts, including weekends.

Responsibilities include proper disposal of bio-hazardous waste, performing quality assurance tests, and maintaining strict sterile processing standards. Requires high school diploma; one year of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• One year of Sterile Processing Technician experience preferred.
• Critical thinking, effective communication, decisive judgment with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment.

Responsibilities

• Disposes of bio-hazardous substances, chemicals, medical waste, and supplies.
• Performs and documents required QA testing and inspections.
• Cleans, disinfects, decontaminates, and sterilizes surgical instruments and equipment using appropriate methods.
