Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health in Burlington, MA is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician 1 for the evening shift. Under CSP supervision, you will perform decontamination, prep, packaging, sterilization, and casebuilding to support perioperative services and maintain instrument turnover.

This entry-level role requires strong attention to detail, basic computer skills, and the ability to lift 50 lbs. Certification within 12 months is supported, with on-the-job training and opportunities for growth

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Must acquire certification with either National certifying body (CBSPD or IAHCSMM/HSPA) within 12 months of hire date.
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination & Cleaning: remove soiled instrumentation, decontaminate per policies, and document tasks.
• Prep & Packaging: inspect, assemble, and package instruments and trays; verify functionality and labeling.
• Sterilization, High-Level Disinfection, & Sterile Storage: select sterilization method, operate sterilizers, perform monitoring and storage of sterilized items.
• Casebuilding & Client Service: process casebuild tickets, track items, and communicate needs to CSP leadership.
