Mohawk Valley Health System in Utica, NY is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician who will operate under the supervision of the Senior Technician and Department Manager to perform all duties in sterile processing.

You will decontaminate instruments, inspect and assemble for OR and other labs, run washer-decontaminator and sterilizers, maintain accurate logs, wrap and label items, and restock carts as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year previous related experience preferred.
• CS Tech Certification preferred.

Responsabilités

• Carries out Standard Precautions at all times.
• Performs all phases of decontamination: instruments, carts and equipment (commodes, Imeds, Isolation Carts, wheelchairs, stretchers, etc.)
• Operates the washer-decontaminator, cart wash and the steam gun.
• Performs all phases of inspecting and assembling instruments for the OR, CTOR, Cath lab, EP lab, X-ray, ER, Sleep lab and all the off-sites
• Operates the sterilizers in the department (STEAM, ETO, and STERRAD).
• Adheres to the proper wrapping, labeling, and logging on the appropriate log sheets.
• Maintains accurate logs on all sterilizers.
• Operates heat sealer, labeling gun and drying cabinet
• Accurately documents results.
• Adheres to the proper delinting, folding and assembling of reusable linen.
• Restock hemodialysis carts, minor procedure carts, and prisma carts.
