Job summary

What’s Upstate in Utica, NY seeks a Sterile Processing Technician to perform all duties in sterile processing under supervision, including decontamination, instrument assembly and labeling, and maintaining logs. You will operate washers, steam sterilizers, and related equipment, ensuring accuracy and safety.

The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and prefers CS Tech Certification and about 1 year of related experience.

1 year previous related experience.
CS Tech Certification.

Responsibilities

Carries out Standard Precautions at all times.
Performs all phases of decontamination: instruments, carts and equipment (commodes, Imeds, Isolation Carts, wheelchairs, stretchers, etc.).
Operates the washer-decontaminator, cart wash and the steam gun.
Performs all phases of inspecting and assembling instruments for the OR, CTOR, Cath lab, EP lab, X-ray, ER, Sleep lab and all the off-sites
Operates the sterilizers in the department (STEAM, ETO, and STERRAD).
Adheres to the proper wrapping, labeling, and logging on the appropriate log sheets.
Maintains accurate logs on all sterilizers.
Operates heat sealer, labeling gun and drying cabinet
Accurately documents results.
Adheres to the proper delinting, folding and assembling of reusable linen.
Restock hemodialysis carts, minor procedure carts, and prisma carts.
