Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure patient care and surgical supplies are properly inventoried, decontaminated, assembled, inspected, sterilized, stored, distributed, and tracked across the health system.

The role follows SOPs and Infection Prevention guidelines, recognizing processing errors and performing follow-up as directed, while using inventory systems to maintain efficient workflow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Certification in Central Service Technology is strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 12 months experience in Sterile Processing and/or Central Distribution is strongly preferred.
• Must have knowledge of medical terminology, and must have strong communication and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Follows all standard operating procedures (SOP) and Infection Prevention and Control Guidelines.
• Able to recognize potential and actual processing errors and follow-up according to procedure or management instruction.
• Completes assigned tasks in a timely manner and maintains continuity in work flow.
• Utilizes applicable inventory systems in use.
