Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a central processing technician responsible for inventorying, inspecting, storing and reprocessing patient care supplies and instruments across the health system. You will follow SOPs, infection control guidelines and use EMR, inventory systems and Microsoft Office to maintain accuracy.

The role requires a high school diploma (CRCST preferred) and strong phone/computer skills; prior healthcare experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience in central processing or healthcare environment preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Must have strong phone and computer skills, with ability to navigate the internet and use handheld devices.
• CRCST certification strongly preferred within 24 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient care supplies, surgical instruments and equipment are inventoried, inspected, stored, distributed and reprocessed.
• Follow SOPs and infection prevention guidelines; report processing errors to leadership.
• Utilize systems and technologies (EMR, inventory systems, internet) to maintain accuracy and workflow continuity.
