Job summary

HCA Florida Englewood Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure every instrument is cleaned, sterilized, and ready for surgery. You will support safe, high-quality patient care by maintaining sterile supply chains and preparing instrument trays.

Collaborate with nurses and surgeons, monitor sterilization cycles, store and organize instruments, and uphold safety standards. High school graduate and knowledge of sterilization supplies are required; prior experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of sterilization supplies, equipment and instruments.
• Previous experience strongly preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards.
• Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly to ensure safe, high-quality care.
• Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on daily schedules and procedural needs.
• Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized.
• Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support smooth, efficient surgeries.
