Job summary

HCA Florida Kendall Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure instruments are cleaned, sterilized, and ready for procedures, supporting safe, high-quality surgical care.

You will work with nurses and surgeons, perform sterilization cycles, organize trays, and maintain safety standards while handling biohazard materials, with opportunities for growth within our patient-first team.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate/GED required.
• Graduate from a Sterile Processing Technician program.
• Current Sterile Processing Technician Certification or plan to obtain within 6 months.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and organize surgical instruments and supplies per safety standards.
• Monitor sterilization cycles, document results, and resolve issues to ensure safe, high-quality care.
• Prepare and organize instrument trays and surgical rooms per daily schedule and procedures.
• Safely handle and dispose of biohazardous materials while keeping the area clean and organized.
• Work closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support efficient surgeries.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Graduate from Sterile Processing Technician program

Current Sterile Processing Technician Certification or plan to obtain within 6 months

Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date
